Commitment to baked goods

Commitment to baked goods

Ginbis has been committed to "baked products" since its founding. In particular, it aims to be the best in Japan for unglazed hard biscuits. When it comes to "deep baking," products cannot be produced unless all elements, such as the state of the dough, temperature control, and baking time, are perfectly balanced. Ginbis has inherited the masterful techniques that traditional craftsmen have cultivated over a long history, and has honed its baking techniques to the perfect degree. Taking advantage of this baking technique, non-fried snacks that are finished without frying in oil are also popular products unique to Ginbis. In addition, we are working on developing other original products. The "Shimi Choco (Chocolate Soaked Corn Puff)" used in Shimi Choco Corn is a manufacturing method that Ginbis adopted ahead of other companies in Japan, and the Koga factory is equipped with one of the largest impregnation plants in Japan. Ginbis's efforts are not just about technology. Based on the philosophy of "We are dreaming of sweets!", we are particular about the shape of our snacks so that they are delicious and enjoyable to eat. Each of our products, such as Asparagus Biscuits, Tabekko Dobutsu, and Shimi Choco Corn, has a specially designed shape that makes them easy for customers to pick up and pleasing to the eye.

Quality Control

Quality Control

Ginbis is proud of its long-established confectionery manufacturer, and is committed to a high level of quality control, based on the philosophy of founder Yoshiro Miyamoto that "quality is the lifeblood of sales." The Koga Factory obtained ISO9001 certification in March 2008, and FSSC22000 certification in July 2017 (with FSSC22000 certification, the ISO9001 certification was lifted). We continue to improve our on-site quality control on a daily basis. We will continue to make daily improvements as a confectionery manufacturer that customers can trust.

Allergy Prevention Measures

Allergy Prevention Measures

All products are egg-free

At Ginbis, we are of course taking great care of our factory facilities and ensuring that our employees are aware of quality control, but we are also working to ensure that our customers can eat our products with peace of mind. One of these efforts is our approach to allergies. All Ginbis products are egg-free. We make safe and delicious sweets without using eggs in any of our products, because we want customers who cannot eat eggs to be able to eat them with peace of mind.

Sustainability Initiatives

At Ginbis, our management policy is to be "International" and "Independent"(Uniqueness)" "Instructive" and "Three I's" have been embodied in various ways, such as through the creation of products and services. Based on our management philosophy of "Contributing to world peace through sweets," we aim to deliver dreams to our customers and contribute to world peace through sweets.

[Major Initiatives]

1. Making learning accessible

We write the names of animals in English on our affordable biscuits, and use educational content on the packaging to create opportunities to learn English and contribute to parent-child communication. We are also actively involved in initiatives to connect with the next generation, such as cooperating with parent-child events and accepting career interviews with students.

2. Responsible production and consumption

We donate products that cannot be sold in stores due to their "sell-by date" even though they still have a shelf life, to people in financial difficulty or who need food, in order to support meals and reduce food waste. As for the disposal of food residues, we provide waste such as defective products generated during the biscuit manufacturing process to companies that turn them into animal feed.

3. Environment

We are also working to reduce plastic waste, make effective use of paper resources, and reduce power consumption.
Regarding the plastics used in the wrapping paper discharged from the factory, Showlex for removing fabric is generated when adjusting the packaging machine, so we outsource the collection, transportation, and processing to a company that can turn these into 100% solid fuel (RPF) to reduce waste plastic. As for paper resources, we have asked a recycling company to collect and process the cardboard used when delivering raw materials and supplies so that all of it can be recycled. In addition, we have switched the electricity for the factory lighting to LED since 2014, and will install solar panels at the Koga factory in 2022, in an effort to reduce electricity consumption.

Ginbis's social contribution activities

Jiseikai Rehabilitation and Offender Rehabilitation Corporation

  • Participation in Social Initiatives
Scenes from our participation in leaflet sampling for the Bright Society Movement promoted by the Ministry of Justice.
  • A ceremony to honor the staff of rehabilitation protection facilities and cooperating companies.

Under the slogan "We are dreams of Sweets!", Ginbis is committed to various social contribution activities, hoping to be a company that can give dreams to society. One of these activities is the Jiseikai Rehabilitation and Protection Corporation. Jiseikai is a foundation established in 1952 with the aim of supporting the social reintegration of young people, and initially started out by operating a rehabilitation facility. It was established by Sumiko Miyamoto, one of the founders of Ginbis, who herself acted as a foster mother to the residents and did her best to help them get back on their feet. As a result, some of them paved the way for the Self-Defense Forces or self-employed. In addition, some of them became excellent executives at the Ginbis Koga factory. Unfortunately, in 1963, the loss of the attached workshop forced the company to temporarily suspend activities, but it later resumed as the Liaison Support and Protection Association, which aims to provide support to the Rehabilitation and Protection Association. With the enforcement of the Offender's Rehabilitation Services Act in 1996, it was approved as an offenders rehabilitation corporation, and continues to carry out its activities to this day, based on the original principles of its founding, including providing subsidies for the costs of operating and maintaining offenders rehabilitation facilities, subsidies to related institutions and organizations, and awarding honors to staff at offenders rehabilitation facilities.
